Fireworks Request, Truck Stop Proposal on June 9 Agenda

The Cave Spring City Council will decide Tuesday, June 9, whether to contribute $3,000 from the hotel/motel tax fund toward fireworks for this year’s Liberty Day celebration, scheduled for June 27. The Downtown Development Authority has already committed $5,000 toward funding the display.

Council is also expected to hear plans for a proposed truck stop on Gadsden Highway.

Dec. 4, 2025 Work Session and Council Meeting

Though I cannot vote on anything until next month, I want to keep you informed about what is happening with your city government. Tonight’s work session and regular meeting covered a lot of ground. Rather than running through every agenda item, here are a few highlights. Work Session Motel update - According to City Manager Nick McLemore, renovations on the motel are moving forward.  Lights on city hall property - The city is going to ensure that the parking lot and sidewalks are adequately lit. Sewer project - Work is wrapping up and the contractors are going through some final testing and punch-list items.  Police equipment - Chief Lacey brought a request before council regarding new equipment for the police department including pistols, shotguns, shotgun racks, body cameras, radar units, a computer and software.
