Street Rename, New Ordinances Headline Packed Council Agenda

A request from the Northwest Georgia Housing Authority to rename Stewart Circle is one of the items on the agenda for the April 7, 2026, Cave Spring City Council work session.

Council will also review reports from the Downtown Development Authority, court, police, fire, billing, and financial departments.

Other items on the agenda include a key policy, parking ordinance, event ordinance, and requisitions. Council will also review information related to the Local Road Assistance (LRA) program and the Local Maintenance Improvement Grant (LMIG).

Additionally, the agenda includes proclamations for Georgia Cities Week and Arbor Day, as well as discussion of community clean-up days.

The meeting is scheduled to conclude with an executive session to discuss personnel.

Dec. 4, 2025 Work Session and Council Meeting

Though I cannot vote on anything until next month, I want to keep you informed about what is happening with your city government. Tonight’s work session and regular meeting covered a lot of ground. Rather than running through every agenda item, here are a few highlights. Work Session Motel update - According to City Manager Nick McLemore, renovations on the motel are moving forward.  Lights on city hall property - The city is going to ensure that the parking lot and sidewalks are adequately lit. Sewer project - Work is wrapping up and the contractors are going through some final testing and punch-list items.  Police equipment - Chief Lacey brought a request before council regarding new equipment for the police department including pistols, shotguns, shotgun racks, body cameras, radar units, a computer and software.
