Council to Consider Events Moratorium, Property Matter at Feb. 10 Meeting

The Cave Spring City Council will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 6 p.m. at Cave Spring City Hall, 10 Georgia Avenue.

Scheduled updates include the financial report, a report from the Georgia Department of Education, and reports from the Downtown Development Authority, municipal court, police department, and fire department. Council will also consider approval of previous meeting minutes, billing items, adjustments, and requisitions.

Per the tentative agenda, council members are expected to discuss a proposed events moratorium and address a matter concerning property located at 123 Fincher Street.

Dec. 4, 2025 Work Session and Council Meeting

Though I cannot vote on anything until next month, I want to keep you informed about what is happening with your city government. Tonight’s work session and regular meeting covered a lot of ground. Rather than running through every agenda item, here are a few highlights. Work Session Motel update - According to City Manager Nick McLemore, renovations on the motel are moving forward.  Lights on city hall property - The city is going to ensure that the parking lot and sidewalks are adequately lit. Sewer project - Work is wrapping up and the contractors are going through some final testing and punch-list items.  Police equipment - Chief Lacey brought a request before council regarding new equipment for the police department including pistols, shotguns, shotgun racks, body cameras, radar units, a computer and software. The city is moving forward with the purchase of some items through regular purchasing procedures and will get additional bids for the bigger ticket items. The softw...
